Revolution is the best answer to corruption

"Revolution: A Call for Change in the Face of Corruption"

Today , we live in a society where corruption has been infested every where.  Power has been given to people of short stature, who with their myopic mind set mutilating the already worst picture of the current society .

In a world fraught with corruption, injustice, and inequality, the cry for revolution often reverberated as a clarion call for change. The need for a revolution against corrupt systems is a sentiment that has echoed throughout history when societies failed to stand oppressive and dishonest systems.

If we see the current situation of our country, which is on the brink of being a failed state, going through political turmoil, constitutional crises, had a narrow escape from Default. But, hold on ,have we really survived default. The answer is Big No!

The prices of daily commodities have been sky rocketed, the large strata of the society barely able to pay their utility bills. This entire  picture reflects that we have only used cushion from that Term. In this corrupt system, where subsidies are offered to high officials in the Judiciary and seniors from forces. These, lucrative packages, even the officials of the most developed countries hardly afford, has crushed the white collars  of my country. The gulf between haves and have not’s has been widening.

What policy makers, don't realize is the cost eventually the country will pay.The time is not far when men on the street will not feel safe even in the fool proof security zone.People will be forced to join wicked elements to make their ends meet. Now, think about the law and order situation would have been,in this worst case scenario. That I am leaving it to your imaginations.

Corruption, in its various forms needs to be whipped away at the foundation of a Just society. It undermines trust in institutions, diverts resources from those who need them the most, and perpetuates cycles of poverty and inequality. From embezzlement in high office to bribery on the street, corruption takes many shapes, all of which contribute to a culture of injustice.

Revolution, often viewed as a drastic and sometimes even tumultuous course of action, becomes necessary when other avenues for change are blocked.  Revolution signifies a collective wisdom and awakening, a demand for transparency, accountability, and Justice.Peaceful revolutions, rooted in non-violent civil disobedience and organized protest, have often achieved significant change.

Revolution is the best answer to this corrupt system, and history witnessed that goals can be achieved through peaceful protests. However,in Sri Lanka ,we have recently seen how peaceful protest turned into violence. But at the  same time, Movements in the United States for civil rights are the prime examples of peaceful revolution that led to transformative change.

In today's interconnected world, technology and social media play a pivotal role in mobilizing people and spreading awareness about corruption. Citizens can document and share instances of corruption in real-time, sparking movements for change. Social media platforms have the potential to amplify the voices of those who seek justice.

This is the moment, we should stand and voice against the system that breeds corruption and crushes the innocents.Topple this unjust system where some are ‘more than equal’ by replacing  it with a better one.

A revolution should be underpinned by a vision of a more Just, transparent, and accountable society. It should prioritize the well-being of all citizens, irrespective of their background.

However,  one must remember that Revolution is fuelled by countless sacrifices and uncertainties. Nevertheless, when the scales of Justice  are imbalanced by corrupts, the cry for revolution is a reminder that the human spirit yearns for a world where honesty, fairness, and accountability flourish.
