Education Reforms ( APA styled)

Education Reforms

Abstract

Education means learning something new to get better. This is the first thing taught to the first man created, Adam. Knowledge and education made a human the best and wisest of all the creations. Education reforms have always been a topic of great concern among Americans. Education must be aligned with modern needs. Schools and classrooms should be learner-centred at the core of school reform. Education should be made accessible to all the citizens of a country, regardless of caste, colour, or creed. Research should be facilitated, and a review of the curriculum should be based on diversity and made in parallel to compete with the emerging challenges.

Keywords: public perspective, educational reforms, diversity, redesign of curriculum.

Introduction

Education policy from Democrats to Republicans has long been a topic of great discussion. Democrats push education for all, and their policy is giving more value to blacks and putting in more funds to empower them. Unfortunately, America is violent against blacks, which gave rise to the movement for civil rights for blacks. In 1954, the first major piece of Civil Rights legislation was passed, granting all students the right to attend public school: the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas decision. So, Democrats want to apologize for the past miseries and crimes against blacks. However, Republicans think that the policy should not be racially based. More funds must be allocated to research in education and the redesign of the curriculum. Both parties agreed to give priority to education reforms. The youth in America are nowhere closer to the youth of the contemporary world.

 Education Reforms in America

As we see, the political parties have their agendas and political stunts. Sometimes they highlight one issue to hide the other. Politicians, despite their political differences, give value to   the greater interest of America and must do the needful.. In N. M. Lambert & B. L. McCombs (Eds.), How students learn: Reforms should be students centered to give them the conducive learning environment (pp. 1–22), American Psychological Association.  If, according to Republicans, there is a great crisis, then they should do the needful. Clinton and congressional Republicans agreed to reform federal student lending by introducing “income-driven repayment.” There is a dire need to make people constructive and socially responsible.

Education reforms in Pakistan:

Pakistan has faced numerous challenges since the day of its inception. We have a low enrollment ratio, untrained teachers, and a shortage of funds and infrastructure (Ministry of Education, 2020). Therefore, sincere efforts to reform the system are the only solution.

In our country, we have people with cultures that resist education. They believe boys are breadwinners and only good for labour and also there is no need to send girls for education. This results in almost seven million children being out of school. The low enrollment rates, especially for girls, mean they are denied even basic education (World Bank 2020).

Conclusion

Education empowers individuals; they become more productive and responsible. An educated person is constructive and takes the economy to a soaring height with positive input. Education builds a positive bond among the citizens of society; they become more tolerant and pragmatic and help each other in need. When it comes to education, reforms are the only constant.
