Islamiyat Quizzes for XI

 Topic one

Introduction to the Qur'an

themes, offering guidance, wisdom, and insights into matters of faith, spirituality, morality, law, history, and much more.1

.1.Divine Decree and Destiny.

  • The Quran discusses the concept of divine decree and destiny, underscoring the belief that everything happens according to Allah’s will.
2.  Stories of past nations:

The Quran is the first book which has described the stories of past nations as philosophy of history. This means that the Quran has described the result of past nations as cause-and-effects analysis.

3. Morality and Ethics:

The Quran provides a comprehensive ethical framework, outlining principles and guidelines for righteous conduct. It emphasizes values such as justice, honesty, kindness, forgiveness, and compassion.

4.Science and Nature:

While the Quran is primarily a spiritual and religious book, it also touches upon natural phenomena and scientific facts that were only discovered centuries later. Verses in the Quran mention the creation of the universe, the development of the embryo, the water cycle, and the movement of celestial bodies, among other scientific concepts.

He is the One Who made the sun a radiant source and the moon a reflected light, with precisely ordained phases, so that you may know the number of years and calculation ˹of time˺. Allah did not create all this except for a purpose. He makes the signs clear for people of knowledge. Quran 10:5

Light of moon is not its own light, its reflected light (Modern science)

. Modern Science has discovered that in the places where two different seas meet, there is a barrier between them. This barrier divides the two seas so that each sea has its own temperature, salinity and density

.1 Oceanologists are now in a better position to explain this verse. There is a slanted unseen water barrier between the two seas through which water from one sea passes to the other. But when the water from one sea enters the other sea, it loses its distinctive characteristic and becomes homogenized with the other water. In a way this barrier serves as a transitional homogenizing area for the two waters.

5. All living organisms are made of water

And Allah has created from water every living creature. Some of them crawl on their bellies, some walk on two legs, and some walk on four. Allah creates whatever He wills. Surely Allah is Most Capable of everything. Quran 24:45

All living organisms are predominantly made of water: human beings about 60% according to NASA fact sheet 70%, fish about 80%, plants between 80% and 90%. Water is necessary for all chemical reactions that occur in living cells—(it) is essential for food production and all living ecosystems.
